Dog is licking cuts and reopening them?

My dog cut 2 of her legs while out last week. Think it was Wednesday or Thursday she did it. One of the cuts seemed worse than the other, ots about 6" long, other is about 3" long, neither of them seem too deep.

She wasn't bothered about the cuts at the time and I didn't take her to the vet. She was still running about.

However she keeps licking and licking them and both of them are now still open wounds, though not bleeding. She's now limping on her front leg, though if you throw some cheese for her she forgets her limp and runs for it at full speed!

They don't look infected.

I've seen some snti-lick plasters on the internet and was thinking about getting some. In the mean time (they'll take a couple of days to come) is tehre anything else I can use to stop her licking? Do I need to take her to the vet?

put an old odd sock over her leg and then near the top of the sock wrap plaster tape (not sure its correct name but is looks like the sticky part of a plaster and comes in a roll) around the leg a couple of times so it stays up. she can't get at it then,

Please take her to the vet before this develops into a serious infection.

Not got any socks long enough, she's a greyhound.

I'll give the vet a ring tommorrow, though they really don't look deep or infected. She just keeps nibbling/licking the scabs off. Maybe the vet could give her one of those big plastic collars.

Thanks.

Time for the vets and the collar of shame methinks.
