He went in to be neutered and died on the operating table. I have told my DC and they are understandably devastated.
he was 7 months old, he wasn't supposed to die

You poor things.

Tidey · 27/05/2010 17:14

maltesers · 27/05/2010 17:17

So terribly sorry to hear this news. . . .you poor things. What happened? Did he have a bad adverse reaction to the anaesthetic or what. ? >

MmeLindt · 27/05/2010 17:17

Oh, how sad. I am so sorry, your must all be so upset.

Does the vet know what happened?

PersonalClown · 27/05/2010 17:18

I'm so sorry. We've got a 6 month old and would be devastated to loose him.

Did the vet give any reason as to what or why it happened??

cocolepew · 27/05/2010 17:18

How awful

secunda · 27/05/2010 17:20

That's awful poor little pup, and your poor DCs and you. I didn't realise that could even happen with a routine op like neutering

ShinyAndNew · 27/05/2010 17:21

I'm very sorry. My puppy was hit by car at 9 months old, while I was on Holiday, last summer. I still cannot get over the fact that she is not here. She was just a puppy.

I know how you are feeling right now. I have lost dogs before through age, or ongoing illness, but this feels different because it shouldn't have happened.

It will get easier though. One day you will be able to remember your pup and smile.

DaisymooSteiner · 27/05/2010 17:21

I'm so sorry. I remember from your previous posts how much you loved him.

booyhoo · 27/05/2010 17:22

has the vet said what caused it?

so sorry for you, they really become so much a part of your life even though they are very young.

Pingpong · 27/05/2010 17:25

that is really sad, I'm so sorry to hear your news

thumbwitch · 27/05/2010 17:26

oh that is so dreadfully .
Poor little thing - maybe he had a reaction to the anaesthetic.

I got my mum a kitten when I left home (as a sort of replacement for me) - he was run over when he was just a year old - it was utterly devastating. I couldn't get over it for ages - such a waste of potential.

Big (((hugs))) for you all.

bumpybecky · 27/05/2010 17:28

I'm so sorry

tillys · 27/05/2010 17:30

That is very very sad hugs to you and DC

kid · 27/05/2010 17:49

They checked his heart before they started and it was fine. Within 30 seconds of the G.A, his heart just stopped. They tried to revive him for 20 minutes, even gave him some adrenaline, but nothing worked.

I am totally gutted. He was my baby and he was attending puppy classes and doing so well. We had even trusted him to run around off lead and he had a wonderful time last weekend and even went swimming for the first time. Its just not right that he has gone at such a young age.

Our previous dog was 14 years old. That was sad but we knew it was going to happen eventually. 7 month old dogs don't just die like that.

The vet was very appologetic, he said nothing like this has happened in over 10 years.

My DS just said 'I wish M could come back' and he burst into tears. I am not much comfort though as I just keep crying too. I know it will get easier, but just wish we could fast forward to that now.

Thank you for your lovely words

Oh Kid, I'm so so sorry

BudaisintheZONE · 27/05/2010 18:08

Oh kid. How terribly sad. Poor puppy.

We had our 13 month old female spayed last week. Never even entered my head that something could go wrong.

So sad for you.

Alouiseg · 27/05/2010 18:08

I am so, so, very sorry. What a terrible thing to have happened. My 7 month old pup was neutered last week and it was my biggest fear.

So sad for you and your dc

LittleWhiteWolf · 27/05/2010 18:10

Poor you.

Just so you know, you crying isnt not supporting your DCs. Its showing them that its ok to cry and to grieve and feel sad that your puppy has died. Dont beat yourself up about crying and being unhappy, too.

LittleWhiteWolf · 27/05/2010 18:10

Sorry, bad grammar, but the thought was there!

Vallhala · 27/05/2010 18:11

I'm so, so very sorry Kid. My heart goes out to you and yours yet I know words are useless.

Sending love and kind thoughts to you and yours from me and mine.

Val x

OrientCalf · 27/05/2010 18:12
