Long term trip to cattery

I have to put my three cats into cattery for five weeks over summer hols. I am going to look at a different cattery to our usual one which is fine for a week but not sure about long term. What should i look for at cattery and has anyone else boarded their cats for this long? I am reluctant to leave them but cannot be avoided.

My cat goes to a lovely cattery, he never wants to come home. I found it by recommendation. However, It is always best to call on them when they are not expecting you. It gives you a good idea of how clean they are etc.
The owner of the cattery I go to is an absolute cat lover and this makes a difference to the care received, she also does not employ lots of teenagers to run it for her. She is always there, on site.

I agree with uggmum, always look for a real cat lover-run place! Go and visit and ask how much personal attention each animal gets with cattery staff each day. If your pets are going to be there long-term it's important they are handled, cuddled etc daily to make sure they feel reassured.

Also ask about their vaccination policy, cleaning and see how much space and play activity there is in the runs.
