Pup is in season, how long will she bleed for??

Lola did go in to season, we are on day 4 of bleeding, she is making quite a bit of mess now, I was wondering how long the bleeding will last?

She is still extremely swollen, will that go down as the bleeding eases?

Oooh another question! When will be the best time to get her done?

Usually 1 week swollen, 1 week bleeding, 1 week swollen -total 3 weeks. There are however individual variations to this.

Ideal time is to get spayed midway between seasons. Average time to each season is 6 months so ideal spay time is 3 months after the end of the season.

3 weeks as BG said - the "hot" time is around 11-14 days I think, that's when they are most receptive so keep an eye out for strange male dogs!
