are ginger cats ever girls?

I have heard that you don't get female ginger cats. Anyone out there able to contradict that through their own experience?

I so want a ginger cat. ANd I know I will never get one because there's never a ginger cat around when your last tortie/grey/tabby/ black & white goes to kitty heaven and of owners of ginges.

We fostered a pair of ginger girl kittens - they were born in the summer of 2008. In fact, they were adopted by a couple in Kingston upon Thames - now I'm wondering if they match any of the descriptions on this thread! Adopted from CPL N.London....
