Does your cat do this?

I had left a loo roll on the floor and have just found it ripped and clawed to bits. I forgot she did this with loo and kitchen rolls.

oh yeah! cant be too careful with any type of paper roll.

they all must be shredded

at least both my cats think so.

My cat steals my rolled up socks and underwear that I keep in a plastic box in the bedroom!

I find them scattered all over the landing when I get up in the morning!

Vallhala · 12/05/2010 22:30

Ah, yes, black-and-white cat steals socks. He's often found running around the house with one in his mouth, though god only knows what he wants with them!

The cats leave loo-roll shredding to my GSD, who will do so if I leave him at home alone. Luckily it's about his only vice. Rather loo-rolls than my clothes or furniture!

I had a cat that used to pull the toilet paper from the holder. I regularly came home to find it in a long trail from room to room.

We ended up having to move the toilet roll holder to a higher position on the wall. It was annoying though as it was just out of reach when you were sitting down and it looked daft.

my cats will purr all round my legs when she sees me taking the milk from the fridge. it's not the milk she wants. it's the little plastic pull-off ring from round the cap of the carton. she has hours of fun with them til they get lost under the sofa.

Well it's a cat's duty to make sure that thing is dead before you put it near your bum.

Be grateful, lesser mortals.

It's well known that toilet rolls have the ability to kill cats if they don't attack first, she was simply protecting herself

One of mine steals hairbands and regularly manages to ping herself right between the eyes with one, and then gives me a filthy look as if I did it. You think she'd realise that holding something stretchy with one claw and then pulling on it with your teeth can only result in one possible outcome, especially if you'd already done it ten times that week. It seems not!

CaptainUnderpants · 13/05/2010 07:58

Mine used to do it with any newspaper that was left on the floor ,espcailly Daily Mail.

CokeFan · 13/05/2010 08:05

Cats never did this but House Rabbit does - including Andrex Puppy style unravelling. I've caught him a couple of times and all he does is sit there looking at me, surrounded by paper, with an "I can't believe you think I did that!" look on his face.

He also "customises" any other paper that might be on/near floor level e.g. recipts, bills, unopened post

randomimposter · 13/05/2010 08:24

Absolutely.

One of my cats also can seek out tampax from high shelves/cupboards (basically anywhere not under lock and key) and get them out of the wrapper and flings them around as though they are a mouse.... There must be something very distinctive about the smell, as she can find them wherever they are hidden.

PMSL at the selectiveness of Daily Mail destruction. Genius cat.
