Does anyone own a pony

I have been thinking of buying a pony for some time, 30 years infact if you count my own childhood dreams! Does anyone else own a pony? How do you find it, any hints and tips? We did have a pony on loan for around year but that was on a working livery so the experience was very different. Thanks.

I would post this in tack room as you will get more advice and answers there.

slippers I had my own horse for nearly 6 years. They are a labour of love, they require a huge amount of commitment and specialist knowledge. We lived in a rural area part of the time we had him, this meant cheap grazing etc. Then we moved to the city prices were extortionate for livery. However, he was such a joy to own.In the end I gave him to the riding school where we kept him, they loved him and it worked out well. The economics of it should never be underestimated vet, farrier, insurance, dentist etc equipment. And more importantly time needed. Please do not let me put you off, I just want to give you the facts so you can make an informed decision. Good luck.
