I have always had mine done at 6mts-with no ill effects whatsoever.SOme people say leave a bit longer but I didn't want the risk of an unwanted pregnancy or the "yowling".

thanks whoosh, mine are 5 months and it has been many years since i have had a cat neutered, i could not remember what age we had them done.

So booking in, within the next month or so, would be good then.

Assuming they are boys and both "balls" are descended-absolutely! I never wanted mine to discover the ability to "spray" so always have done at 6mts.

My vet said for a male that it should be no earlier than 6 months as problems can be caused if the tubes are not fully grown....or something like that. Anyway we believed him and had our boy done last month, with absolutely no ill effects. He was bouncing about within about 2 hours and if not for the disinfectant smell that he came home with you'd never have known he'd had anything done!
