Human allergy eye drops for dogs?

Our dog suffers with hayfever and has Piriton twice a day on the advice of our vet, but her eyes are still very red and itchy at times. A couple of years ago our previous vet recommended some human antihistamine eye drops - she wrote down the (long) name of an active ingredient and told me to get them from Boots. They worked a treat, but unfortunately I've forgotten what the active ingredient was and the vet has now left the surgery - and nobody else can shed any light on it. I know the drops were Boots own-brand hayfever ones, and their website only shows one kind which contain Sodium Cromoglycate. But I'm not sure they're the ones, because I remember last time all the off-the-shelf drops contained the wrong ingredient and I had to ask the chemist for the type I needed (after spending ages examining all the bottles in the shop twice over, naturally!). A lot of the drops seems to contain Sodium Cromoglycate, so I don't think that's it.

Any ideas what they could have been?

Hi. Did you find out what the drops were? I am looking for something for my own dog.

I just paid a vet £130 for a 6 minute consultation about my dog's eye irritation (I'm careful about eyes). He said she had alergies and prescribed Sodium Cromoglicate 2% eye drops to be used 3 times a day for 4 days and then 'as needed'. It's the same stuff as is in Optrex (but the % may be difference so should be checked) but you can buy exactly the same thing at 2% and same size online for about £7. Vets are really ripping people off.
