Dog chipping - at what age?

Phoebe (Golden Retriever) is due to have her last jabs next week and will be 12 weeks old. Is it advisable to have her chipped at the same time or do you think she is too young? I have heard stories about the chips 'migrating' but is this related to when you have the chip inserted or just bad luck in some dogs? Both my cats are chipped but were done later at about 2 yars old.

TIA

Our dogs have always been done by their breeder before coming to us so before 8 weeks.

Oh thanks, so 12 weeks not too young at all.

agree - puppies should be sold chipped.

Oh well, bearing in mind that ours wasn't, I'll rectify this next week
