So, my boy guinea pig has just bitten me

and now my arm is itching and has 4 raised white marks.

I get a red, itchy neck from the claws when I've held a guinea pig against bare skin there. I've never had a reaction to being bitten though (other than swearing). Have you got some antihistamine cream if it's very itchy?

Apparantly some people are very allergic to guinea pigs specifically (and not to other little animals). Friend's daughter is - they were very sceptical but had proper tests and it's turned out to be the case. Rare, but real!

I have put some savlon on and a plaster on top and it is stopping the itching. We have only had them since September so I hope I am not allergic.

It might just be their saliva that you're sensitive to or something - you can probably avoid that most of the time!

I hope so. I would love to cuddle them more.
