ERGHH at my dog

He managed to escape for a little while today. When I found him he was by the bins. I had to pick him up as he wouldn't come in. He STUNK!

I had to give him a bath even though I was meant to be going out in about 10 minutes. Well, while he was in the bath, 2 big fat maggots fell off him. I still feel sick thinking about it now

So far he seems ok, no nasty accidents on the floor like we were expecting. Maybe that will be waiting for us in the morning?

Dogs have incredibly strong constitutions thank God!
Ahhhhh! Bless him! He loves his bins eh?

Sorry. Not what you wanted. But I miss my dog.

My mum's spaniel ran off in the park and rolled in poo the other day. It was really horrible cleaning that off.

My dog is getting old, he is a Yorkie and is 11 years old. I think 11 is the life expectancy for this breed. Not looking forward to him going but unavoidable

for you and your dog.

Eugh! I'd be tempted to stick a nappy on him just in case any more get out when you're not looking!

Gobbledigook · 26/07/2005 22:03

Eeew, who'd have a dog? Bleurgh!

kid · 26/07/2005 22:04

the maggots fell off his face / mouth [puke]

OP posts:
BadHair · 26/07/2005 22:05

Oh, sorry, wrong end. Perhaps save the nappy until tomorrow?

kid · 26/07/2005 22:07

LOL, good idea. Laminated floor in every room so not too difficult just very smelly to clean.

dogs and bins eh??

My dog is so well behaved she needs no lead to go on walks (literally outside front door) but on thursdays it's bin day and if you let her off the lead you'll not see her again till every bit of food, bones etc has gone. Yuck, she stinks when i do eventually get her.

Then #dh lets her lick him. YUCKY MORE!!!!

kid · 26/07/2005 22:10

I wonder if I will be sick before the night is over?!

Does your DH realise where she has been?

I had a look where my dog was today, its down the side of the bins. There was a few empty chips boxes, possibly had some chicken in there but my dog had polished off any remains of food.

it's when she finds dead animals in the bushes that i wretch, she'll stand far enough away from me so i can't catch her and crunch till every last bone is gone.

i doubt your dog will be sick they are built to stand yucky things like that i'm sure loads do it.

If he/she(sorry) then i wouldn't worry cos it's not bad for a dog to be sick i don't think(although it makes a mess

kid · 26/07/2005 22:17

with my dog, he isn't usually sick, he does it out the other end!

Kid, life expectancy for yorkies is 14 yrs so there's hope.

Talking about the subject of the thread I once found my lovely yorkie munching other dog's poo. Eeeeuuuuk!

serah · 26/07/2005 22:22

oh dear, another bad mummy confession.

My DS has stinky cold, and I put him in his bouncy chair whilst I went for wet cloth to wipe off encrusted snot from night before.

On returning to him (ooh, a good 10 yards) I bent down to wipe at his face and found there was no encrusted snot.

Only dawned on me later that the dog had passed me as I returned to wipe. At least he doesn't need feeding later...... [gross emoticon]

kid · 26/07/2005 22:23

ok, so we can look forward to another 3 years of munching maggots from the bin! He won't be getting another chance I can tell you!

He is lucky to still be alive, he was once attacked by another dog and was smashed against the concrete floor

kid · 26/07/2005 22:25

No accidents this morning either, maybe maggots are nutritious after all?!

My bull Terrier loves to eat snails. It turns my stomach every time i hear her crunching the shells. YUK

Soothepoo · 31/08/2005 20:27

My sister's two dogs once rolled in a decaying sheep. She said the stench in the car on the journey home was unspeakable.

TinyGang · 31/08/2005 20:35

Oh why did I read this thread?

kid · 31/08/2005 20:39

My dog has been as good as gold since. No more eating from the bins, only because he hasn't eascaped lately!

in the days when Dd was using a potty, she was in the habit of doing her bussiness and leaving the bathroom door open not always telling me to go and clean it up.

And one day I found my dog eating out of the potty!! Toilet paper and loads of brown stuff. Yeayk. I still fell sick to the stomach when thinking about it.
