Why does my cat.......

one of the naps with her head face down, looks very strange and not at all cat like?

when in one of her "loving" moods is insistant that she wraps her paws around my neck her head under my chin, I get washed and nibbled - is this affection or dominance?

my cat sleeps like that to! thats sweet it sounds like affection.

I don't find it affectionate when she sinks her teeth in though I liken it to imprintation rather than love. She doesn't do it to anyone else not even dh who she is partial to gracing with her affections as well.

Aw, she sounds like my 'special' cat. He was the runt and he's a bit simple, bless him he too hugs me and tries to nibble my ear, and he sleeps face down on the lawn, always in the same spot facing the fence. Glad to hear he's not the only cat that does it!

Washing is sort of dominance/imprinting/love all wrapped into one, I think. We have two boy cats and it is almost always the one who washes the other, very rarely the other way round. The one who does the washing is dominant. Oddly the subservient one will sometimes wash me, whereas the dominant one doesn't, and appears to think I am his mother. It's all very confused around here.
