One of my ratty girls just died

She was a bit hunched and sorry for herself for a few days but still eating and seemed to perk up when handled. Was planning to take her to vet tomorrow.

Poor little lass.

Is it worth taking her to the vet to see what killed her? Worried it might be something the others will catch.

Rang the vet and asked for advice re the other 2. I made an appointment to take them both in for a check-up tomorrow.

We lost ours a couple of weeks ago, Onyx, just keeled over ( I think she had a stroke) and Opal, then seemed to just fade until she had gone when I got up the other day.

They were 3 tho, so was to be expected, and as we are moving tomorrow, maybe was for the best, they hated moving.

Ours are only 18m so much too young. We lost the last 2 at 2 years and I was totally devastated. I think it's easier this time because I realise they are short-lived so not such a shock. But still horrible.

Yes this was the 8th pair we have had, I want some Dumbo eared ones this time tho.

Ours are dumbos They always looks slightly crestfallen and worried!

I took the remaining girls to the vet today. He was great. The last vet I saw was a bit uninterested in small furries as far a I could tell. This one gave them a really good examination, suggested they might have parasites which would explain why they often had porpyhry leaking from their eyes and why they get so many scratches. He gave them an anti-parasite jab. They were born to a female that was pregnant and dumped - so she might have had parasites that she passed on.
