My cat is obsessed with my hair.

She climbs into bed at night and then proceeds to push my head out of the way until she can get at my hair. Then she makes a sort of nest, kneeds it and purrs fit to bust. If I turn my head she goes to the other side and settles down again. I think I am totally extraneous apart from a hair carrier

Is that odd? It is isn't it? Will she leave home if I get it cut?

Some cats do this - IME particularly the ones who were homed as very young kittens and who love to knead generally. Spent many sleepless nights at a friend's house with a gorgeous young cat who would knead my scalp and suck my hair until I couldn't take it any longer

THanks bella. We got her at about 9 weeks but for some reason she had been taken from her mum at 6 weeks. SHe was kept in a warm lit cupboard with her brother and a rabbit However in other ways she is perfectly healthy and happy (well she hasn't said otherwise).

Mine used to love kneading and sucking at my hair. I think it's because our hair smells very much of 'us' (and it's a rare furry bit, maybe cats prefer that??). As long as she's not eating it too - can cause problems because it's much longer than cat hair.

Yes I wouldn't want to give Lola hairballs

Everytime I see My Cat I think someone is talking to me.

Just to clarify, I'm sure your hair is lovely, but I'm not obsessed with it.

not really odd, our cat does this to me at night given half a chance. She likes to groom male humans with close-cropped hair too . She's not allowed in the bedroom at night any more given an additional propensity for eviscerating birds and mammals under the bed...

My girl cat does this to me (no-one else) very annonying especially as I'm allergic to cats!
