I haven't seen her around for a bit, just RL getting in the way of mn?

I hope she is alright, I know she had a sick dc.

I want to hear tails (see what I did? ) of the disappearing dog to make me feel better .

Hello all

Yes, still here - just not very often these days. Puppy doing well and LBC will be glad to hear that, having turned in several weeks of almost faultless recall (better and sharper even than my lab) she went AWOL for 45 mins yesterday morning. Oh, such joy!

I did go to Crufts, yes - just to do the stalls and spend way too long with the lovely lady on the Wolfhound stand. Twas an interesting role reversal: I kept flagging up potential problems and she kept discounting them and saying 'sounds perfect, sounds perfect'. Plus she had the 2 most beautiful bitches laid at her feet giving me the soulful eyes up from under their brows look....O - M - G, as they say. If I had a bigger car I'd have one tomorrow...

Hope you and your furries are all well, ladies and thanks for thinking of the daft old bat

Ohhhh I want a wolfhound. I always have. DS~2 and I were out walking when this couple passed us with a wolfhound from behind. DS jumped out of his skin when the dog's head appeared on a level with his own Such a lovely gentle beast, we stood and talked to it for ages.

But with the amt of space and time we have it would be impossible

Get thee behind me, Bedlam! I have had a brief look at that website, and may CAT you at some point for breeders' names in order to do some preliminary fact finding.

Thank you - hope your dc are recovered

minimu · 19/03/2010 07:56

ooooh preliminary fact finding - we all know what that means!! show us a picture of the new pup soon Bella

GrimmaTheNome · 19/03/2010 08:20

We met a couple up in the lake district the other week who said they'd been to a show to suss out the wolfhounds.

What they actually ended up getting was two minature wirehaired dachshunds. Very similar really, there's your answer Orm

OrmRenewed · 19/03/2010 08:53

Hairy sausage dogs! Yes. That would please my DC Just have to start working on DH...

GrimmaTheNome · 19/03/2010 11:53

All the wire-haired dachsies I've ever met have absolutely lovely characters too.

Bella32 · 19/03/2010 13:19

pmsl minimu - you know me too well, I fear

Grimma - you're a genius! You have just explained to me why I almost got a mini wire haired dachsie at one point. I could never understand why (I don't mean that as a slight to the dogs, just that they are completely against my usual 'type').

Now - how many of them could I fit in my boot?

GrimmaTheNome · 19/03/2010 16:28

Oh, you could have a whole nest of them.

Each dachshund is definitely a whole dog, and certainly sounds like one! The number of people I get at the door looking for something at doberman height rather down by their ankles
