MrsL's disaster zone puppy strikes again!

At this rate I'll be taking out a second job just to pay my vets bills! She split one of her back nails on Sunday which needed a trip to the emergency vet, but she was still no better after 5 days of antibiotics so we took her to our own vet this morning. Turns out it had gone septic so they had to keep her in and put her under to remove it

They had to cut it right back the nail bed and cauterise the wound, and she's got a big pink bandage on her leg. She's crying all time time so it must be hurting her, and she's feeling very sorry for herself! She's to be crated again and no walks for at least a week, just when she was getting back to normal after her elbow operation. Two steps forward, five steps back!

Poor little girl

I stupidly increased my excess last year to reduce my premiums a bit - will be changing it back to £60 when my renewal comes around in August! We're with Tesco and they've been very good, but I did get a bit of a fright this morning when I got a message on my voicemail saying "we have a problem with your claim for holly's elbow dysplasia and will be unable to pay the whole amount, please call us to discuss things futher". Considering we're up at over 3k now, I was a bit panicked! But when I called up it turned out the vet had put £15 for some wormer on the invoice by mistake, so they just wanted to tell me that they couldn't pay that - wish they'd said that on the message
