Will having my dog castrated help him to calm down ?

Very lively almost 2 year old lab ? started to hump things including the children

my DH didnt want to get him done (silly male thing i think )
but im almost there convincing him it will clam him down ..any advice please

It might solve the humping, it might not. Humping is largely a behavioural problem, and you can stop it by training him a very good 'leave' command. It probably won't generally calm him down though.
