Puppy acting strangely - put my mind at ease!

My 5-month old terrier mongrel has woken up looking very stiff and he feels quite hot. He's not touched his food (which isn't overly unusual, he's not a greedy dog) but he just doesn't seem 'himself'. He usually comes and sits with us on his beanbag in the sitting-room, but now he's gone to lie down on his own in his cage in the kitchen

Should I be worried or is this quite normal (ie. should I wait 24 hrs to see how he is before taking him to the vet?) Not trying to shirk off my owner-responsibilities, but I have an 18month old and am 8 months pregnant so if I can avoid an unnecessary trip to the vet then all the better.

Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

i would call your vet for advice. they will be quite happy to help you decide what to do. good luck

Thanks Overthemill - I've just let him outside and he was happily trotting round the garden. Still hasn't eaten but is now back on his beanbag having a snooze....

How's he doing now? Hope all is well

Aaaw, that's really kind, thank you Tulpe. Yes, all is better. Have no idea what it was but the next morning he woke up good as new, waggy tail, ate all his breakfast, happiest chap on the block. Very strange but am v. relieved!
Thanks for thinking of us!!
