To all of you who have been so good as to read and reply to my posts of despair over the first two weeks with our new pup, Ruby
Thankfully, after a rather major low point on Friday, we seem to be on the right track. She is biting less and is responding when asked to stop or at least easily distracted with another toy. If she doesn't stop, she gets time out which, being a velcro dog, she absolutely hates so quickly gets the message
She has been significantly calmer around the DCs today and youngest DC is getting more confident with approaching her and touching her.
I have begun reading Gwen "super pup guru" Bailey's book. If only I could stay awake long enough to read more than a pages at a time!
She had a fun morning with my friends' 14 week old Newfie today It was great, he is like a little bear cub and totally adorable. He is 3 times her size and they tore around the kitchen chasing and play-biting. He was definitely a good influence on her - she was able to stand her ground but also understood that he was definitely top dog
Her next playdate is with a labradoodle on Wednesday .
She had her first bath tonight in the kitchen sink! She didn't love it but she didn't appear to hate it either. She snuggled in front of the fire for half an hour and is now playing with DH.
She has her final set of vaccines on Saturday and so Sunday will be the First Walk
Thanks again I am sure I will be back with more questions some time soon!!
