I need to buy a leash & collar for Ruby (our viz puppy). She will be ready to go out in 2.5 weeks and I want to get her used to a leash in the meantime.

I really have no idea where to begin. I am confused by the size guides for a start and there is just so much choice available.

She does have a collar on now but it is rather tatty - it belonged to the breeder who put it on her to distinguish her as ours.

All advice/ideas welcome Thank you

Blame Blynken - although tbh, the whole site kind of screamed Daphne at me...

Romanarama · 12/02/2010 15:59

The stripey 'wide' with matching lead is a must for my pooch, even at £72

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 12/02/2010 18:02

Oh dear, mentioning the words Holly and Lil, I was cursing the site I first saw them mentioned on !

Plog has a pink Hollywood dreams one on the second page of the collar and lead section. It was half price and came all beautifully wrapped in a box.

I shall slink off hanging my head in shame.

That's quite nice actually, Wynken. It all sounds so appealling: 'sugared almond' shades. Have to remind myself it's going to be 'fox poo' shade within a day or two

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 12/02/2010 18:51

But no Bella, it isn't, though to be fair she hasn't discovered fox poo yet. Any gunk just wipes off really easily. I've had it on good authority that they still look good as new over 2 years later.

However with her halti harness and black training lead no one notices the flipping £30 collar and call her a boy anyway (the beard might not help) so I could gave saved my money !

Bella32 · 12/02/2010 19:00

Might I suggest?

morethanyoubargainfor · 12/02/2010 19:08

Bella, Bella, Bella, what have you done! my DH won't be happy either .

think the stripey pne and the curly lad will look beatiful in some of those collars, if only they did giant size, ho hum my marriage might just be safe .

Bella32 · 12/02/2010 19:12

Oi!

I recommended ezydog - neoprene, £10 or so!

It was WynkenImeldaMarcos what got us all on to Jimmy Choo dog collars!

morethanyoubargainfor · 12/02/2010 19:16

yes but you did that link so therefore i feel that i can blame you for most some of it! .

If there wasn't a link i couldn't have been arsed to search for it myself!

No doubt my lads will get nice new shiney things soon as crufts is fast approaching and i never leave that place empty handed!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 12/02/2010 19:54

I was quite discreet really, it is Bella's fault !

Showed DH the tutu picture and he has left the house muttering something about beer.

Bella32 · 12/02/2010 21:36

Yeah, yeah - Bella's fault! Just blame Bella - oops I had to sell a kidney and remortgage my house to buy a dog collar but it was Bella's fault really...

Just remember that when you want some advice on anal glands, girls!
