how to deter a fox from coming to my garden

We have a rabbit that spends the night in his hutch( very secure). I could hear him banging madly inside sometimes at night and found out that a fox is circling around his hutch trying to figure out how to get him.
Does anyone know of a good deterrent to stop the fox coming into the garden?

What you need is this

www.conceptresearch.co.uk/index.htm

We had a whole family of foxes in our garden at one time (Mr Fox came around one day in the autmn, the next day he brought along Mrs to "inspect the premises", in the springtime Mrs sat stretched out on the lawn, supervising five admittedly very cute cubs frolicing as if they were a mum and kids in the local park). Anyway, I bought the Foxwatch and put it up. The next morning there was a fox turd on the mat in front of our patio door, which I guess is the fox giving a two-fingered salute. But after that: nothing! Thoroughly recommmend it!

A Gruffalo?

RedbinDippers · 09/02/2010 20:43

We love them, they eat all of our food waste and are much more entertaining than telly.

Summersoon · 09/02/2010 20:52

But they don't just eat the food waste but they also brought some really quite disgusting items, such as soiled nappies from somebody else's bin into our garden! They left gnawed-off bones and dirty, empty takeaway boxes and so on and so on.

Get some alpacas.

RedbinDippers · 09/02/2010 21:00

Feeding foxes alpacas seems a bit extreme, a chicken carcass is perfectly adequate.

Other than an alpaca or llama to kick to death 4 dead rabbits and still no solution. Mr Fox learnt how to break into the run so no more bunnies for us.
