Anyone with cats with AIHA? Need a little advice

My cat was diagnosed with AIHA a few months ago and has been on cortisone (sp) ever since. He has been stable for a while, but over the past couple of days he has been acting oddly (which is how I found out he was sick).

He is eating, although not much, and is lying on the mat by the back door, with the odd visit outside for his toilet breaks. When I call him, his ears move and he looks at me through his eyebrows, but just looks miserable. He doesnt feel warm so I dont think its an infection.

This morning, I saw him sitting in the middle of the lawn not doing much.

Usually he is pawing and purring for me to feed him in the mornings, but he hasnt moved off the mat for over 3 hours.

Should I be worried? I am a little paranoid when it comes to my pets, but I dont want to miss any problems, and at the same time dont really want to have to take the vets time up more than I have to.

I would go back to the vet, or at least phone and have a chat. sounds like he may be having a relapse as it can happen. AIHA does make them really weak and lethargic - thus the lying on the mat being pretty unresponsive.

im assuming that you mean auto immune haymolytic anaemia - the blood disorder?

hope he feels better soon.

Yes he has that, poor thing and he is only 3 years old too!

Will see how he goes tonight, and if he still the same then will get him looked at
