Hi,
Just thought I would share...
We have had our pup for three months now. He has been a handful- mostly in normal 'puppy' ways- and nothing that is his fault really. We have had all the normal chewing, mouthing, erratic toileting success, nipping etc etc which is all part of puppyhood, but can get you down sometimes as I am sure others will testify!
And just when we thought it was getting a little easier, the 'teenage'phase has hit us with a bang. Now, the little training we had managed to instill has somehow been 'forgot' by this gangly, toothless, clumsy goofball who has replaced the small bundle of fluff we started with .
Anyhow, during the last week or so he had got really trying...and then we got a call to say a member of the family was ill in hospital. Cue, drop everything- DD went to stay with her nana for the night and we suddenly had to find suitable kennels for pup (now six months). luckily i had done kennel research before we got him and there were some lovely ones who agreed to have him for one night.
I felt terrible leaving him and thought about him often during the 24 hours we were away. I actually really missed him (and dd too of course...) even his antics around the house. by the time we picked him up I was so anxious to see him, and since we came home his naughtiness has not bothered me half as much.
I am not suggesting that everyone with a difficult pup puts them in a kennel... but it certainly made me realise how much I love him and wouldn't want to be without him.
I expect I will feel differently next week lol.
