The Kong is here, what do I stuff it with?

We are planning on using it as something he gets given when we go to bed, to try and break the halfan hour of solid barking habit we have at the moment when we out him to bed.

The giggly ball is going down a treat. He is ccurrently chasing it around the house like the duracell bunny on speed.

Any other indestructable, terrier proof toys you could recommend?

We usually stuff ours with small treats, but they can get bored of that quickly when they stop falling out, so it's more of a day-long solution! If you're wanting to keep him quiet for a short period, I recommend squirting something inside it that he has to lick out. Kong do cans of squirty stuff but ours don't seem too keen on them and they're expensive. Their favourite filling is that squeezy primula cheese. Cheese triangles are also good, as they melt and smear about as they're licking them, so last longer. Mmmmm, messy

I stuff ours with bits of ham (jammed right down in the bottom so it's harder to reach) or sausage/frankfurter (lasts ages), or a lump of cheese (also lasts ages).

I like the cheese triangles idea, thanks MrsL123

Thanks he likes cheese so I'll try that the giggly ball is still amusing him, but now has a giant hole in it

Freezing them is a good way of making the filling last longer...

Tuna, bread, sausage, cheese, fish treats (from fish4dogs, these take ages for him to get out), sardines, pasta, kibble.

Not all at once.

If you include cheese you can pop it in the microwave and melt it and let it reset before giving it to the dog.

In the summer I add gravy and freeze them.

I use peanut butter as our dog (Border) is little and doesn't have the strength to force out treats.

Haven't seen it for months, though (the Kong), asshe runs straight outside with it and it disappears!

Peanut butter here!

Being stuck at home again on another frustrating snow day I could be tempted to answer this question.

But I'll just post a link instead

Tonight my guys had (layered, from the base of the Kong up): oval biscuits, dried meat, roast chicken, more biscuits, more chicken and a good big squirt of primula with ham to seal it all in.

You need to really squish the soft topping in well with your fingers, to make it harder to lick out.

Kong pastes a waste of time - they're like shaving foam

I just misread Bella's post as 'they like shaving foam' and I was thinking even my food thief boy wouldn't eat that!
