New Puppy!!!

I have a new addition She is a JRT and so tiny! and clingy she sleeps on me all the time, i haven't had her long but we have bonded well, she get's up at 4 am and i am shattered, but it's all worth it, toilet training is going well, she is so clever. I have no complaints what so ever the kids love her and she loves them.

Not really a point to this thread apart from wanting to share my joy.

Any names would be gratefully recieved she got called 'puppy' today at the vets as i cant decide on a name.

Don't worry too much about the bonding - you need to work a little on teaching her to be on her own, very tiny steps at a time.

What colour is she?

Maisie? Tilly? Jessica? Poppy? I like names that people don't always associate with dogs as this is alot more interesting!
Letting the kids name her can be fun too.

Thankyou both, Bella she is white and she was the smallest of the litter, yes i agree Bella but she so tiny i wanna snuggle her all the time and keep her warm, she wont go to sleep unless i hold her in my arms then i have too put her in her crate, it's fine at the moment but i suppose long term it is not ideal.

Names i'm hopeless too, that's why i love mumsnet when i cant make up my mind

My friends' JRT is called Tustle. I think its a great name for that breed

Her "official" name is Dasher. The pups were born on 19 December so they are all named after Santa's reindeer

I must admit, I quite like that one too!

My little JRT was called Myra. Named by the breeder and it just stuck.

I am also thinking of calling her Elsie. The tone of her fur reminds me of Elsie Tanner from Corrie - and she was the height of glamour when I was a kid

Eccles is a tri-colour Cocker Spaniel puppy. She is asleep on my lap as I type!

We had a JRT growing up who got called Puppy to her dying day .

Such clever little dogs . We have a 14 week one and he is just great, he's learned so fast....apart from recall, that seems to be a bit slower (i feel like I'm working agaisnt some serious terrier genes with that one).

They can be deaf, yes, as can all white dogs/cats. Many white JRT's are not deaf though. Does she respond to a sharp hand clap behind her?

Deaf dogs aren't that much of a problem really - hand signals work best for hearing and deaf dogs. I've had deaf dogs whose recall was better than some of my hearing dogs

Bella, she is fine she can hear everything.I thought maybe she might be, because of her colour. Would make no difference I would love her all the same

liath - She is adorable and i love her to pieces she is already getting the hang of toilet training and i am going to inrole us in puppy classes, i have high hopes for her i most certainly are in your biased club
