She is utterly lovely. Been in the house two hours and showed great interest in anything even slightly food related. She was a stray and I think food is a big thing. We are holding out and not feeding her till teatime as was the practice at the shelter. I've bought her up to the study and she's settled a bit. Sat down twice and now washing herself. Up to now she's been in ceaseless movement. I've filled her litter tray and showed her where it is. Also given her water. Do I need to do anything else? We are lifting her off worktops as she jumps up - any other tips?

I blink at my cat LOL
He likes to try to get his entire head in your mouth after you clean your teeth.... He gets so excited when the frst one of us gets up in the morning, he meows and runs round - we talk back saying stuff like "Timmy fell down the well? oh no let's call the farmer" and he talks back
his morning he was spotted in bed with dd - not ON bed, but in bed, just his head out from under the cover.
He's soooooooo adorable, black with yellow eyes, part burmese/alley cat
Cats protection league pussy too - he was about 12 weeks old when we got him

Ingles I just looked at your pic. Very cute!

Bella32 · 09/01/2010 23:32

Why are you so offended at the thought of your cat being an opthalmologist, Ingles?

It's a good profession you know

Bella32 · 09/01/2010 23:33

p.s. am categorically not looking at pics in my broody state

Ingles2 · 09/01/2010 23:35

Whatever next?

Northernlurker · 10/01/2010 09:45

All good here. Mia had run of hall, landing, office and kitchen at night. Very peaceful night. Desperate for breakfast and now saying she hasn't been fed but once you distract her she's fine. Very like a toddler tbh!

Just to report back - Mia settling in very well. Bit of a break through moment just now. I'm sat at the pc with a bit of cake. She has gone mad for food up to now and it's been impossible to eat with her in the room. So she leapt on to the desk and I said 'no' and put her back on the floor, bracing myself for the return etc etc BUT she stayed down and went off to do something else!!! Now granted she had just had her tea but still it feels like a great development She's now asleep on a chair, so adorable The kids think she's brill and she's been playing beautifully with them. Very happy cat owners here.
