We live in North London and are looking for a couple of kittens. Preferably with bold temperaments as we have a 6yr old dd. Any suggestions?

try any cat/animal rescue, they are bound to have kittens.

Remember if you get a pair of kittens, make sure you get them neutered asap especially if you get a brother and sister, they will still breed even if they are siblings.

This is the wrong time of year for kittens and there will not be many about. You are more likely to find them in the spring/summer.

...but last year was a freak year and Cats Protection had lots at this time...

Worth a phone call. You might fall for a slightly older kitten anyway....

Try the Mayhew, or the CPL at Archway - if you google "archway cats", they're the first or second hit. If there are kittens to be had, they will have them. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until spring.

Kittens need an enormous amount of attention - far better to get a pair if you can, as single kits tend to get bored which leads to behavioural problems.

I'd also suggest that you only get them from a shelter and not from a private seller. The shelter will have had them vet-checked and done initial inoculations and if they've been born in the shelter's care, will have been with experienced fosterers to be socialised. Some private sellers are great, I'm sure, but the quality of their care varies. Shelters are a fair bit more reliable.
