Our cat snores quite a bit and it's loud. Is this normal?

I posted a simple thread a couple of weeks ago as mine was snoring much louder than I remembered. She is 15 and seems okay but I do listen out for her. She sleeps a lot.

It's quite sweet really (if it doesn't mean she's ill of course). She's only 3. All black and we think part Oriental as she has a small head and long legs and she is always 'talking'. Basically she is very greedy and very loud. Has your cat always snored Fab?

my Persian snores too, but its usually too loud in my house to hear her and the dog and DH snore louder!

I have 3 cats (all standard moggies), 2 of which snore...not as loudly as me though . Funniest thing is when they meow in their sleep and wake themselves up.

My 'special' cat snores, he's half Burmese and half local tom cat

Pineapplechunks · 02/01/2010 16:40

My moggy is snorer. Often and quite loudly. I reckon its normal.

diddl · 02/01/2010 16:59

Mine also snores.
Only delicate, cute little snores, of course!

mad4mainecoons · 02/01/2010 20:44

mine snore too! louder than my dh on occasions!
although both are maine coons and seem to have really loud purrs as well- dont know if there is a connection.
