My 2 pups have the run of the garden, Im starting to think maybe they spend too much time out there together, we have a muddy garden and so they are always fithy and stinky. Which frankly, as much as I love them, puts me off cuddles

Do you think I should keep them in most of the day only letting them out in the front for wees/poos (less muddy there) then letting them get their excersice on their walk (they have 2 45 min walksa nd are toy dogs)

I just want them to be more housey dogs than the muddy beasts they are noiw.

Can you buy doggy perfume

My dog keeps her nether regions clean by herself.

She gets a bath when she is groomed, four times a year, and we often hose her down in the summer with dog shampoo (she will go into the river, so give her a clean afterwards). We only wash her ourselves when she can stay outside to dry.

I imagine she does smell to a sensitive nose, but we don't notice.

Daphne gets treated to a doggy grooming parlour about every 8 weeks in summer for a haircut. I am considering going once a month in winter to get her washed and conditioned as her hair gets awfully tangled. I bath her about once a week but she always looks a bit shaggy and ungroomed.

We met a Bichon Frisee in town yesterday, and he was so sleek and posh looking. I was a bit jealous until DH pointed out that the Frisee looked a bit poncy.

Thanks BSB. Maybe she needs more pampering!

Re the OP - one really useful trick I taught my dog was "roll over", so when we come in from walks and she is muddy I get her to roll over and then I can towel her tummy and paws without too much hassle. Its really useful!
