We are going to France tomorrow for 10 days. Unfortunately, I have to leave my darling Annabelle (5 months old). She will be visited/fed/entertained twice a day. I'm scared she is going to get cold so do you think I should leave the hitting on even if we are not there ?? Thank you !!

You should leave your heating on low anyway in case of ..... something, can never remember what but you are supposed to anyway

Set the heater on timer to come on for an hour or so in the early hours of the morning and once during the day. You don't want frozen pipes if the weather is shite whilst your away!
As for the cat, do you have a plug in radiator (one of the 1500w equivelent energy use as one light bulb being left on)? One of those will do fine and put a nice comfy bed there for it.

I turn the thermostat down and leave the system ticking over.

You don't want to come back to frozen pipes or a damp cold house.

And your cat might move out if you leave her in an unheated house all that time.

My cat gives me cold looks when the heating does off at night and she is forced to get off the radiator cover and sit on my lap!

Ok I will follow your advice, I wish I could take her with me, feels like I'm leaving my 3rd child behind

Yes definitely leave the heating on low or time it to come on a couple of times a day - the weather is freezing atm and you don't want burst pipes when you get back.

I put put special blankets for my cats when we go away

I have some special blanket as well and a sheepskin for her. Its breaking my heart to leave her behind. I love her to bits, she is suche a good cat...its going to be hard tomorrow...
