Minimu - can you give me some advice please? I've been thinking for a while that I may ask Santa to bring me some agility equipment to set up at home (exciting gal that I am!!!) - what would you recommend I start off with, please?

Thanks

Nooo we'd already done our 20 min puppy walk before they arrived

I did take a leisurely stroll around the (very wet) garden. They're bloody lovely

Will report back in the morning. Can't decide whether to wear them in bed . DH thought I looked like a polo player. Not sure if that is a compliment??

Back to your boozing girls...

BellasSparklyBaubles · 08/12/2009 22:59

Listen, AW, keep your damn kinky wellies-in-bed behaviour to yourself, okay?

Something is sadly amiss in my life when I can get this excited by A Pair of Wellies.

AW I hate to say this but you do need to get out more!

Link to tunnel it is a very sturdy one and can be left outside (although it did spend some time in my kitchen when I first got it!)

Just been out. Never has so much fun been had in rubber, leather and neoprene.

Well not at 9 o'clock in the morning.

BellasSparklyBaubles · 09/12/2009 09:52

The moral tone of this thread is heading decidedly downhill

Am just about to don my rubber and neoprene too

Minimu - that tunnel looks fab. Thank you - and your OH - for looking that out for me. Weatherproof is a big consideration where I live!

Now I am all of a quandary though - didn't realise teaching weaving was so complex! Should I do 2x2 or channel?! I guess it depends on which club I go to next year, but there's a place at Club A and am on waiting list for Club B which is slightly closer (I live in the sticks).

Angst!

WWYD?!

Neoprene and rubber off for the moment!

I usually do channel weaves but have just done 2x2 with my new dog and he picked it up so quickly. He never gets a wrong entry and loves it. I guess it does depend on the dog but I find the clicker works well on 2 x2 method.

Interesting to see what the club does. The ones I go to do a mixture of V weaves for the drive and speed and channel for the weave entry.

AW your walks sound more exciting than mine

amazonianwoman · 09/12/2009 13:17

2x2, channel or weave???

I'm only lowering the tone of the thread 'cos I have no idea what you are both talking about

BellasSparklyBaubles · 09/12/2009 13:26
  • I hadn't heard of weave either

2x2 is using a clicker to teach a dog to do 2 poles at a time, I think. Channel is using nets etc either side. Am sure that is totally wrong....

Have just cut the ribbon on Phase 1 of my Dedicated Doggy Digging Area. Remembered it was on my 'to do ' list when I saw the feckers darlings hard at work in one of my raised beds

Few turns of the spade, a few biccies artfully buried and away they go....Sadly pup has decided best way to get the biccies out is to bark at them

Oh well...you can take a dog to a digging area but you can't make it....

Oops - I meant hadn't heard of 'V' either - it's all weaving, afaik.

Oh, the lingo...

Update on Digging Area - old girl half way to Auckland.

Puppy bored and has wandered off

Bella your dogs had me in hysterics! go old girl go!

V weaves are the normal weaves but at an angle so instead of being a line of straight weaves they look like v. So the dogs just run in a straight line through the weaves. Then eventually they are straightened up a bit until the dog has to "bend" to get through them
v weaves

You could use your stick in the ground poles for this and don't need to spen £135!!

BellasSparklyBaubles · 09/12/2009 14:45

Ah - I see, Minimu. Thank you for clearing that up. AW - are you following this? Or just gazing at your wellies?

Will try 2x2 I think - clickers are popular here. Old girl inadvertently learned to poo on command when I kept clicking the pup's efforts

Old girl came back in with the muddiest paws you have ever seen, but so, so pleased with herself They are all crashed out now.
