Cat bleeding, urine infection?

My cat is bleeding quite steadily from her lady bits (I have no idea what a cats vagina is called). I called the vet and have an appointment this afternoon. Is this serious?

A cat's vagina is still called a vagina.

Hard to say how serious it is,tbh.

In the meantime, as a precaution, don't feed her.

It was a urine infection and apparently they can look worse than they are. She had an antibiotic shot and seems better already.
