Our cat has gotten a bit round lately, I was worried he was pregnant as ther is a bit of a question mark over if he is a boy or a girl! But we say 'he'.

Anyways DH was in the garden and a fella from up the road came over and was chatting to DH, I was inside the house.

So in comes DH and says that our cat has been cheating on us!!

He has been gooing to this fellas house for about 4 months, getting fed everyday, sleeping there if he can't get in ours and cuddling up to this fella!!

What a little rascal,

so its not babies in his tummy, just double bloody meals!

I will try to act surpised and shocked but it will be difficult.

One of our cats goes like this if you say "Next door's bacon rinds, traitor" in her ear.

TabithaTwitchet · 29/11/2009 20:05

We suspect our cat of the same as he is rather on the rotund side himself.

DD has got a fab book with the same storyline, it is called 6 Dinner Sid, about a cat who ingratiates himself into 6 households.

Parmageddon · 29/11/2009 20:07

We had a 6 dinner sid visiting us for months, he was very persistent, scratching on the patio door and sitting outside for hours even though I (mostly) didn't feed him! He eventually went back home when we got a cat of our own, poor thing.

Disenchanted3 · 29/11/2009 20:09

We have 6 dinner sid book

DH now calls the cat 9-bellies Norman

My CM's cat passes through once a day, in the front door, stalks round, and then out the back, moving on to his three other homes. Having not quite found him the companion she hoped, she now has, much to his disgust, a lapdog.

BellaBonJovi · 29/11/2009 20:15

One of mine regularly comes home smelling of perfume.

Bella does not wear perfume

thehairybabysmum · 29/11/2009 20:16

There is a cat near us that used to do this, incl coming into our house and scoffing the food of my two cats.

He no longer visits as he is now too fat for the cat flap !!

Katymac · 29/11/2009 20:20

When I was about 8, we had 2 cats - black & white & litter brothers (Cat & Puss)

My mum kept asking the neighbours not to feed them - she was worried they were getting really fat - one neighbour kept saying 'Oh it's doesn't hurt them' "it won't do any harm"

She stopped feeding them the day they went into her kitchen & stole the fish for tea, which she had washed and laid on the draining board while she answered the front door

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/11/2009 20:26

I found my neighbours feeding our very fat cat on the patio when they were having their fence replaced. Was because they know she has a weight problem. So I loudly told off my cat for going round to eat at other peoples houses when her prescription diet is so expensive.

Passive agressive I know, but at the last check up she had lost loads of weight so it worked.

BellaBonJovi · 29/11/2009 20:28

OYBK - one of my dogs is on a prescription diet and Hills sent me a tag saying 'please don't feed me - I'm on a special diet' . If your cat wears a collar it might be an idea?

EldonAve · 29/11/2009 20:29

have you not had your cat neutered then?

Disenchanted3 · 29/11/2009 20:51

We were told they cant neyure him as he has no testicles anyway, he has a penis, they suspec he has overies though too.

He cant get pregnant or father kittens.

have you read 67 dinner sid?

also go to the vet and get castrated / spayed. that'll sort out any sex ambiguity.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/11/2009 21:17

Bella - thats a pretty good idea

Disenchanted3 · 30/11/2009 08:54

Weave have a good few cats over the yeas and we know hes not a girl beause of the penis obviously! And we now hs not a full male as he has never spayed or smelled at all.

They said they could confirm the gender if we wanted b it wold involve operating on him and having a look inside, since they said he has no reason to be spayed I passed on it as I don'tt want him opened up for no reason!

I actually got had by this I am a soft hearted sod and since I was a child have brought injured animals or stray animals home to nurse and rehome my mum was always worried I would get bitten because some were wild.

But about a year ago I met a stray cat knew he was stray because he had taken a beating torn ear you know the signs I was feeding him and encouraging him to come in even named him then one day I noticed he had a collar. This put put a stop to my feeding him.

AnitaBlake · 01/12/2009 12:26

I put a collar on my male cat onec that said 'Do Not Feed' all the way round it, it lasted two days before he 'lost' it he loves his new purple sparkly one though........
