Cat flu - any ideas for very congested kitten please

Our 6 mth old kitten has cat flu (and a very manky eye which may or may not be related). We have anti-biotics, eye-drops and pain-killers/anti-inflammatory stuff but any hints on how to help him breath more easily would be great, poor thing is SO bunged up

Thanks

A warm, humid atmosphere can help - if you have a steamer in the kitchen put it on (without a lid), or the tumble dryer. There's also a powder called Bisolvon which some vets prescribe, which can help a bit - might be worth asking.

Get well soon, Kitty.

You can make a steam chamber for him in his cat basket (the one for the vets/cattery, not his sleeping one!) Put a bit towel over it, him in it, and then close the door and put a bowl of steaming water next to the door and pull the towel over that so the steam drifts up into the box with him. 10-15 minutes of that 2-3 times a day may help.
If her nose is all crusty then use some damp cotton wool to clean off - you may need to soak it a bit and work at it over a period of time coming back to it now and again to help.
Is he eating ok - really important to ensure he eats and gets fluids. If he is not then get back to the vets for more help as he is not going to do well without getting some nutrition on board. If you are worried about fluid intake add more liquid to his food - use a wet diet for now. You can also ask the vet for some food like Hills a/d which you can get into a syringe and get into him.
