How much does a golden retriever puppy need to eat?

I've not had very clear instructions from the breeder and am not sure whether the discount for 2x 15kg bags of pro plan is worth it.

Also, can one rely on the puppy continuing to enjoy the food the breeder has told be to get (pro plan puppy sensitive, salmon and rice)? I don't especially want to chuck away 15kg of dog food!

Grateful for your wisdom - tia

Don't switch the pup's food - it can cause diarrhoea etc. Call the breeder and ask how much they were feeding the pup - you should have received a detailed feeding plan. An 8 week old pup would usually be on 4 meals of soaked food a day - start soaking the next meal as you feed the last one.
If you ever do decide to switch foods then do so very gradually over a week - but do make sure you use a good quality large breed puppy food as a large dog's joints can be ruined for life if you don't.
Good luck.

X post - lol @ shits in style, bedlam

Your bag of food should also have a feeding guide, based on the adult weight of the dog and pup's age, so for a bitch you're looking at say 30kg and 34kg for a dog.

OK thanks - will get back to the breeder for more details.

Am thinking of changing my Chihuahuas dog food over as they seem to do a lot of poos on it,its James Wellbeloved at the mo(think thats the name) any recommendations? Royal Canin and Pahs? have been suggested so far, anyone use them?
It has to be a dried food please, the tinned stuff makes them have leaky bottoms like you wouldnt believe.
