Cat Litter

Can anyone recommend a cat litter? Ideally something that isn't dusty and absorbs odour.

My elderly cat has had 3 accidents in the house this week so we are having to put a litter tray inside (hopefully this will prevent any further accidents)
The poor boy has always been immaculatly clean and used a cat flap, but I think he is so old he cannot get downstairs in time. Unfortunatley he sleeps in my study which is up 2 flighhts of stairs and as far from the door as is physically possible

The only good thing is that I have discovered that DH thinks that it is unsafe for women to clean up cat crap (he seems to have missed the fact that pregnant women need to be cautious and thinks it is all women) - far be it for me to let him know the truth!

lol at your DH - moght have to tell my dh the same story

I think I've probably tried every brand of clumping and non-clumping litter there is, and this one's by far the best imo:

We use Tesco's own brand of cat litter I think its £3 for a fair size bag. Lasts our 2 cats a month.

Bob Martin's crystal type (forget what its called, sorry!) or Catsan is the best I've found so far.

There's a Catsan one with a built in litter box liner (sort of like a nappy bit in the middle too). Loads more expensive than the others but makes cleaning out the tray much less unpleasant. Not that that's your problem!

We use this and it's brill - provided they bury their poos it really really stops it smelling, and the wees really clump properly so you can just scoop them out and top up with a bit more litter. We also use this as we're in a flat and one of these covered trays.
