I'm so happy. He needs a bath though. I'm going to give him one soon. The people at the kennel said he has been bathed before and will be fine with it.

Dh, who claimed he did not want a dog and was only allowing it for my sake, sent me to the shop as soon as we got back. So that I could buy the dog treats for him to feed it because it liked me better than him and he wanted it to like him

Wonderful news Shiny. I reckon he's one lucky little boy!

Is he the rough coated white with patches (grey? tan?) little fella halfway down the website's page, looks like a cross between a Jack Russell and a Fox Terrier by any chance?

I hope you all have many, many happy years together.

Congratulations! I anticipate many years of happiness (and muddy floors) ahead of you

Yup, that's him. They said he is cross with a fox terrier whatever that is but they dont know what else, dh is happy with him but scruff is trying to wee on wall near back door even though its open i think he maybe trying to leave his scent but dh is not convinced as kennels told us that he was house trained. whats your opinion

Congratulations Fox terriers are great little dogs .

Quite possibly scent marking Shiny. My perfect (and perfectly housetrained) late GSD did this when he first came into my home. A firm NO! and some lemon-scented detergent stopped him from doing it again.

I hope that this is just a one-off for you too.

PS glad he's the Fox Terrier X, he looks absolutely scrummy and I'm SO jealous!

Now he has had his bath, it's clear he in a bit of a state . He has very sore feet and the dirt under his eyes wasn't dirt they were cuts.

He is off to the vet in the morning to get checked out.

Thanks Bella.

I think I might know why he has never been claimed now. Scruff has dermatitus, which if he is not insured , will cost us a small fortune. The vet is going to monitor him and maybe send him off for allergy tests if it doesn't clear up. In the meantime, he has special shampoo and has had an anti-inflammatory injection to stop him biting at himself while it heals.

Hopefully it was just caused bu the stress of the kennels but if not we have a great vets and good insurance
