Question about cat's poo.

Sorry if this is a case of TMI, but the last two days I've taken my cat's poo out of her litterbox I've noticed that the poo has broken into pieces, but two of the pieces are still connected by long hairs. I haven't inspected too closely, but the hairs didn't look like worms - they just looked like my long hairs that come off my head when brushing etc. I'm worried it could mean she's eating hairs that fall out of heads around the house, and they're passing through her. If this is the case, does anyone know if they're likely to pose a problem? Is there anything I can do to stop this, i hoover regularly but obviously can't get every hair everyday. Or, could these be threadwroms?

Thanks for any insight.

What colour were the hairs - could they belong to the cat?

No, she's a shorthaired cat. The hairs were long, like human hairs.

Cats don't get threadworms - they get roundworms and tapeworms. Tapeworms are long but quite chunky really - made up of segments which each look a bit like a flattened grain of rice.

My guess is that it was a human hair, but that it won't do any harm. Cats get hair in their gut anyway from grooming themselves and it usually just passes through or comes up in a hairball.
