Cat peeing in the house

Hi. Sorry to be posting on such an unsavoury subject but htis drivng me mad! We got our cat (about 2-3 yrs old) from a rescue centre a couple of months ago. Initially, she had a litter tray but we took this away about 3 weeks ago - she has a cat flap so 24hr access to the outside world. For the last 10 days, however, she has peed daily in the same corner of the lounge - not pleasant! She seems to know it's naughty by dashing away when the crime has been committed! I'm now at the point of putting her litter tray back in the house altho I really don't want this to be a permanent fixture in the kitchen. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

put the litter tray back.

will also stop your neighbours from silently cursing you due to cat turds in their begonias.

clean your carpet thoroughly with biological washing powder. Rinse with white vinegar solution. Dry area with a hairdryer, then cover with tinfoil for a few days.
