Why is my cat peeing up the walls?

Noticed yesterday that the wall behind the litter tray is wet.

Sat in wait for the cat this afternoon, and instead of sitting down to pee (aas he has done before), he is standing up, so the wee is going up the wall instead of into the litter tray.

He is a neutered male, 2 yrs old.

Do you reckon it is something he needs to go to the vet for? He is his usual self otherwise.

How about getting a covered litter tray?? Has to be better than the wall.

Ring the vet to see why he has changed his habits.

Will call vet in morning.

We tried a covered litter tray a few months ago actually, neither cat would use it. Cue lots of peeing on the carpet until we put a regular tray back in the room.
