according to my vet that is

thats all well and good but if he goes missing maybe a scanner won't find it. grrrrrr

Whre is it?

A lady told me her dogs went from the neck to the bottom.

We had out puppies done a few weeks ago - the needle is HUGE

They were really brave though!

My boy's one has slipped down near enough to his elbow

Don't worry - vets, RSPCA etc always scan the obvious place first, then work all over the dog's body to be sure - they often migrate The microchips, that is!

It's not as unusual as you think - we see a small number of dogs, though rarely cats where it has migrated down onto the front of the chest area or over the legs. Any stray animal would first be scanned on the neck where you would expect the chip, and then a whole body scan if no chip was found just to make sure it had not migrated elsewhere.

Our dog's chip slipped down to her chest after about a year but then maybe another year later and it was down by her ankle and thats where it stayed, cant see it working its way back up..
