Neighbour spotted him across the road just after DD1 had fed him this morning...

He'd left most of his food as usual and gone off to the field across the road to get a mouse. He'd got so complacent about the road. Silly, silly boy.

And I posted on that funny cat thread last week...

Oh, I'm so sorry.

More of a dog person myself, but I do understand how much pets can mean to a person and a family.
Hope your DD is OK too.

Oh love, that's so sad

LadyoftheBathtub · 12/10/2009 13:07

It's true about annoying cats - they have a lot of personality and wind you up, and there's more to miss. Mine is a grumpy old cow who hates small children and gives us the evil eye, but I love her so much.

It isn't silly, your cat is a great focus for your love and affection and a constant presence. It is a sad loss. So sorry for your DP too

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2009 13:09

sww so sorry

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 12/10/2009 13:11

I'm sorry, it's my nightmare with my two as well. So awful

MmeGoblindt · 12/10/2009 13:13

So sorry. Be good to yourself, eat choc and drink a glass of wine this evening.

ConFuschias · 12/10/2009 13:14

Oh, that is so sad.
I was heartbroken when my cat got run over.

PuppyMonkey · 12/10/2009 13:15

Awww, it's so nice to have your support.

He was such a little bugger most of the time. But a character like you say. Came back from a few days away (neighbour was coming in to feed him) and he had brought about 50 mice into the kitchen and decapitated them. Looked like a scene from Texas Chansaw Massacre in there.

He was wonderful with the toddler though. She pulled his ears, his tail.. virtually strangled him and he never turned on her.

He so loved DP, he was a real man's cat. If we had male visitors, they would always end up with a Smudge cat on their knee. Like it or not.

Oh puppy

Doesn't make any difference that 'worse' things happen to other people. You're sad because a lovely loving creature has gone from your lives. So sorry.

PuppyMonkey · 12/10/2009 17:17

Just had a little ceremony and buried the wee fella at the bottom of the garden. We all bawled our eyes out and feel much better.

Aw puppy.

RIP puss.

fruitspooksbatsintheeaves · 12/10/2009 18:02

oh how sad

I am sorry

we lost our kitten on the road outside when she was 7 months old. DD1 went out to catch her school bus and saw her. It is horrid. It helps when you remember all the funny and happy moments with them though.

RockinSockBunnies · 12/10/2009 18:14

So sorry for you . Our last cat was knocked down and we found him dying on our doorstep a while later. He died at the vet.

Hope you can all have happy memories and that your family aren't too sad for too long.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 12/10/2009 18:22

I'm so sorry PuppyMonkey.
