Names for ginger kitten

Possibly tempting fate here, but have been hand rearing remaining kitten from litter of 8....he's a lovely ginger with quite strong stripes and we are trying to find a name for him. He's a week old now and quite strong, so hopefully he'll be ok. We can't do Orlando (as in marmalade cat) as used that before and don't want Tigger/Tiger.

Possibles so far are Mango, Jaffa, Twiglet, Mustard - but does anyone have any better ones.

My mum's cat was called Vivian after Vivian in the Young Ones. He was a lovely ginger tom cat who grew very fat and lived to the tender age of 16.

Our ginger cat was Chutney - short for mango chutney.

cookielove · 29/09/2009 17:15

i like the name 'tortie' in honour of the last one to die, and all the other little ones to?

YouLukaStunning · 29/09/2009 17:18

Aaahh... just read op properly.

Hope he lives to be a true survivor. He really does deserve a fabulous name

Fab names all - thank you. I think the best way to pick is out of a hat. Have to discard Harry as that's my ds's name, also Ruby and Amber as those are our dogs! And Poppy as that was previous dog! I'll let you know, although I don't think we'll christen him yet, still too frightened of losing him.

He's tucked up with a toy leopard about the size of my hand, for company, given to him by my youngest ds so he doesn't get too lonely! It's so sad seeing him bumble about on his own, but hopefully he'll be ok.

He's Jaffa - by a majority vote! Thanks for suggestions though, some really good ones there.

Lovely name! Good choice

ClaireDeLoon · 01/10/2009 18:37

Lovely name

AvengingGerbil · 01/10/2009 18:41

Were I not too late, I would have said, call him Ginger.

We go in for literal naming in this house!

(But Jaffa is good too.)

Woodward52 · 08/11/2014 14:17

Maybe Cinnamon, sounds nice to me!

chubbymummy · 08/11/2014 14:26

I have a ginger Jaffa, he's gorgeous! I wanted to call him Mcvittie but DH vetoed it so we went with Jaffa instead.

Stillyummy · 18/11/2014 09:35

I have a ginger cat shaped person called Fellini (aka flee). I am trying to get my husband to agree to Antonio or Tony the Tiger but he says it will upset flee and he is probably right.

My friend has a ginger kitten called scampi.

sashh · 21/11/2014 08:33
