Should I let the dc help name our new kitten?

I should shouldn't I?

But I want to call him Walter and I'm sure they'll want to call him something like 'Luke' or 'Darth'..

He's all white and fluffy and extremely cute.

Can anyone think of a fair solution to keep us all happy?

(Preferably with my name choice in it )

Yes. And Darth is a good name for a cat.

who's cat is it?? everbody's. i'm selfish so i name our cats

andlipsticktoo · 07/08/2009 23:37

It's ours, the family's.

After years of saying no to any pets of any sort I have completely u-turned after seeing my children (ds) with a stray cat/kitten my mother has adopted. They were so caring and concerned, it really brought out their nurturing side, which I'd like to encourage.

It will be our only pet (probably!) so I guess I really should let them choose....

how bout you agree on some names write them down and pick one out of a hat or bowl whatever is handy

wigglybeezer · 08/08/2009 11:48

I let my kids choose middle names for our new kittens, I explained that they needed pedigree names (they are moggies).

TrillianAstra · 08/08/2009 12:00

Darth is a good name for a cat.

I was going to say only let them choose if it's a good one.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 08/08/2009 12:15

You should let them choose but the cat will end up with a silly name.

I let the ds's choose the name of the hamster...he's called hampy jack

LouLovesAeroplaneJelly · 08/08/2009 12:19

I let my brother name my cat. He was four at the time. We ended up with a cat called 'Thomas the Tank Engine'.

PlumBumMum · 08/08/2009 12:22

We let our dcs name our new kitten, with our suggestion

TrillianAstra · 08/08/2009 12:45

How is the kitten by the way? Have you demoted him from house cat to outdoor cat yet?

PlumBumMum · 08/08/2009 13:23

Oh yeap he is a cheeky little outdoor cat, who survived another little miracle, so he is definitely Lucky the cat!

(shortened version, managed to go with dh to work, where dh was for 2 hours, then when dh got in van to come home, he stopped at security gaurd to say hi, sometimes drives on, security gaurd said a wee cat has just fell out of your wheel arch, dh looked and couldn't believe it was Lucky, so many things could have happened to him)

Takver · 08/08/2009 13:24

LoL at Lou - we rejoice in a chicken called Fluffy . . .

Suggestions so far are

Charlie
Marvin
Bernard
Bubbles
Ambrose (suggested by me but liked by nearly all)
