mine do seem to think they need to sleep ON a bed.

Ours only wants to come into the bedrooms if we are in there, otherwise he rarely bothers. We don't shut him out because he claws up the carpets by the doors and we are in a rented house so don't want to lose our deposit. He sometimes sleeps on one of our beds at night but much prefers the basin in the bathroom!

Ours aren't allowed in the bedrooms at night. They do have the beds all day though, so I don't feel too bad.

Everywhere but the kitchen as one of the buggers can open the fridge. Also I shut them out of the bedrooms during the night after being woken up far too many times being used as a human trampoline.

We have two.....cute as hell but when we got them one has grown into later years as a little cutie with a weak bladder, the other is blind.....they are only 6 years. They are the cutest things you have ever seen and the older one who is blind, babies and looks after ms spoilt thun (the younger one)....but we have to be careful as the wees everywhere when she sleeps. What do you do...the vets have offered to op on thun the weeing one, but it is very steep and they do not guarentee it will work?

Our two aren't allowed on the kitchen work surfaces (although to be honest they only ever try that if there's an open tin of tuna!)

Cat 1's favourite place to sleep is on my head. He often manages to do this when I am already asleep, so I don't notice. How he manages to do this without waking me up I have no idea.

again, anywhere but the kitchen surfaces. they sleep anywhere, but as a rule lotti likes the sofa or our bed and lola likes the top of dvd player, I guess because its warm. If im doing something like bleaching the floor, I lock the inside catflap and then they have the porch and access to the garden.

Our cat has full run of the house whether I like it or not thanks to his ability to open doors

cheesesarnie · 25/07/2009 13:00

mine are allowed to go anywhere except the kitchen worktops, dining table, bathrooms and ds2 room.unfortunatly they do not always understand this!

PurpleOne · 25/07/2009 13:39

Our cat has the run of the house. It's her offspring that I cannot tolerate!
Don't mind the cat being on the bed - as long as she's not actually on the undersheet. She's also pretty good at ignoring the fish tank and NOT getting on the kitchen counters.
There's 4 kittens piddling and pooing everywhere, and the house reeks of wee. They are 8 weeks old now and pretty much ready to go. Kittens love to pull the ironing down, empty the bins out and claw the life out of toilet rolls.
And climbing up the curtains
