That's it really. Am going away mid August and need to book cat in for 10 days. Should I have already booked? And how do you know they're any good?

I'd start ringing round now TBH (my cattery is ALWAYS fully booked in the summer holidays so I always try to book before end of April)

Most good catteries are happy for you to visit beforehand, and check that they only take fully vaccinated animals.

The good ones book up really quickly - wouldn't wait much longer. My cats have been to 2 different ones - came back bloody miserable from the first but happy chappies after the second . Must be like us staying in hotels .

Agree with sagacious, arrange a visit.
