How to syringe feed a rabbit - without a syringe!!

Bunnys 2 years old, last year had an operation to file down teeth as he stopped eating and had a big spike thing. I suspect similar has happened as he is off his food apart from trusty banana. And on further investigation under his chin is really wet. He is making grinding noises today too - he usually does it when he is being stroked, a quiet grinding, but this is louder like ticking?! Will be going to vet first thing in the morning. Vet previosuly told me to syringe feed him a solution of parsely (to keep gut moving) and pellets. Have dutifuly groud up this tasy looking green mush for him and now cant find any syringe at all. Would a spoon work?

Anything that you can get it into his mouth with really is fine - if he laps it off a spoon for you all well and good. If not then you need to find something you can gently push it into his mouth with. The best plan might be trying a late pharmacy to see if they can supply you with a syringe. You could possibly try a plastic straw with a very small amount into the end and very carefully and gently blowing it out into his mouth if not. If you have a plastic (please don't do glass) eye dropper type pipette then you could also try that - would be easier than a straw anyway!

Thanks Managed to find a syringe - back of a drawer! Managed to get him to have some, alot went on his chin but since rabbits are such clean freaks he just licked it all up anyway. He is in a right mood with me now though, back to me sitting under the table, I swear he keept turing round and giving me dirty looks...!
