Do dogs go through the menopause and stop seasons when older?

This might be a very silly question from me, (nothing new there) but my 8 yo Doberman is a few months late for her season. She seemed to be coming into season a few weeks ago, but it was a no show, no blood any way.

Whats normal for an older bitch?

She needs to be checked out by your vet, Divvy.

Ok, why, what could be going on?

Sorry for being brief earlier. No, bitches don't have a menopause, although their seasons can become more irregular as they get older. There are, however, several conditions that can cause her seasons to stop or change so your vet needs to give her a check over.

HTH.
