fleas despite regular Frontline use - fed up

Any ideas anyone? I use Frontline regularly and religiously as we all get bitten by the little blighters otherwise.
Whilst it stops us from having an all-out infestation, our cat still gets the occasional flea - I just picked him up and noticed a flea in his fur, and it's only been 2.5 weeks since the last Frontline application. One of the children had two batches of flea bites earlier this week .
Is there any other product that is more effective? He's a bog-standard moggie and doesn't mix with other cats AFAIK (we live in the countryside and none of our neighbours have cats, I've not seen any feral ones here either).
I do vacuum the main part of the house frequently, but his bedding and the cat flap are in the utility room, which is admittedly not terribly well-kept . Would vacuuming more in there help d'you think?

We have this problem too, luckily none of us have been bitten yet but it's only a matter of time.

We use Frontline every 3 weeks and we have just started to treat the carpets and soft furnishings every month to try and stay on top of it.

I use Advantage spot-on flea treatment on my cat and it's really effective - never have a problem.

moshie, that's what we use now too - I don't know why it won't work. ILikeToMoveItMoveIt, I think I'll try applying it every 3 weeks too. I've also got some flea spray, maybe I'll use some of that in the utility room as well as vacuum it a bit more...

There was another thread about this recently, see if you can get some tips here
